  1. Heat a large skillet. Add the oil and the pepper. Lower the heat to medium-high.
  2. Add the the ground beef, using a wooden spatula or spoon to, break it up into small pieces, stirring frequently while it browns. After a minute add the cumin and the paprika. Cook for 8-10 minutes until it starts to crisp and it turns dark golden brown.
  3. Add the garlic stir a few times add the onions, if you are using salt, add it at this point, mix everything well and stir for a couple of minutes, add the carrots, mix well and cook for about 10 minutes stirring often, if it starts to dry up add around ⅓ of the can of lager.
  4. Add the tomato puree and stir for 1 minute mixing in thoroughly. Pour in the rest of the lager if you haven’t already drunk it. Once it starts to boil lower the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce is left with just its oil. Sprinkle the oregano and mix it in well and cook for a minute. Scatter the rest of the parsley and stir for 30 seconds and take it off the heat.
  5. We usually serve over rice, pasta or spaghetti squash.
